W164 Front Sway bar bushing replacement

1 Attachment(s)
Does anybody have instructions/help on how to replace the front sway bar bushings? I see they are split bushings. From what I can see they are bolted on to the sway bar, and then tightened within the split brackets. If that is how it is, then how does the sway bar turn within the bushing?

The more I look at it, it appears this sway bar is actually a torsion bar, and the bushings are like engine mounts, that actually twists within the bracket and is an active part of the suspension, along with the Spring and shock. This means the clamping force needs to be well defined. Torque the bolts more than needed and the twisting will be restricted or prevented resulting in a harsh drive equivalent to that of driving without shocks& springs. Clamp it too loose and you risk the bar twisting too easily resulting in bottoming out too fast. Am I wrong?

Can somebody give me the torque specifications for the bolts?
