R Class Expansion Valve Location
 

I'm hoping to find someone who knows where I should start to replace my expansion valve on my 2008 R Class. I've managed to follow the Hi-Low Pressure lines through the inner fender wall and down under the floor beneath the Steering column.

Anyone know where I go to access the valve? Inside the car, under the car, in the dash?

I had someone replacing the fender and headlight unit and had them snap some pictures for me. The lines underneath are concealed under the cover panel.

Expansion valve failure is extremely rare on your R Class. Is it leaking or do you suspect internal failure???
