2007 GL450 Radiator Replacement
 

Well, I just turned 200,000 miles on this truck and the radiator has started to leak where the upper hose goes into it. Has anybody had experience doing this job? I'm pretty good as a "do-it-yourself" guy but detailed instructions would be very helpful. Thanks!

I don't know this car specifically but there is a trend to attach the AC condenser to the rad making rad only removal sometimes a puzzle.

Yes, I believe mine is all connected. That's why before I tackle this job, any advise is greatly appreciated.

It should be pretty straight forward and at 200k if the pulleys/idler/tensioner and water pump have not been changed yet I believe I'd knock em out while in there. They may go longer but you are already in there so why not?

That was my plan exactly; water pump, thermostat, hoses, pulleys and radiator all at once. That other work should be a snap since I'll have complete access.

Yep, do your research and make sure you follow torquing requirements for application and you will be fine. Some applications use stretch bolts and you have to replace them along with the part it is holding.

Are these original pulleys/idler, etc...? Reason I ask is wifes GLK is coming up on 150k miles and I was trying to decide when to change them as a preventive measure. She is fine as long as she ain't sitting by the road with a broke down MB:).

My pulleys, etc are original. I've replaced the serpentine belt a couple of times. Now I'll replace all of it. I'd love to get the torque specs for this job.
