Sprinter question

We own a '19 Sprinter 144", low roof, 4wd, aux battery, cargo set-up (D-rings / rails mid and roof)
We have an Ebersparcher S-2 heater installed under pasenger pedistal, works great will maintain 70* in the back when it's -35* outside.

Mission has changed for the next year, converting to camper van.
Installed 6 circuit fuse box tied to aux battery, added LED lights in the back, 12 volt cooler, 4 amp battery tender, and a queen size platform with storage underneth.

My question to the sprinter experts. Is there any way to disable the lights in the back that come on when a door is opened?
Most annoying when one of us has to use the WC in the middle of the night.

Remove the bulbs in the offending lights?

Sealed LED, maybe they are fed from a fuse that will not affect anything else.
Ideal solution would be to reprogram the vans computer, and when we switch back to cargo mode turn them back on.

Finished ceiling? Can you get the wiring and install a switch?

As near as I can tell the cargo area lights are tied into the CAN buss, like everything else on a modern vehicle. Really don't want to risk unintended gremlins, caused by messing with the OEM wiring.
There is always the old old school method, tape over the offending lights.
