GL front suspension dropped
My 08 had Arnotts installed by the PO not too long before I got it (maybe 2 years ago). I have already had to replace the rear bags and shocks. The wife is out of town about 2 hours away and suddenly the front suspension dropped. She drove it about 30 miles back to her hotel but of course it was a rough ride. Being that it is a GL, it would sit higher than a car with a collapsed suspension, but can this thing be driven back home, or should I have it hauled home? The back is fine.

I might add, she is pulling a small 10' enclosed trailer. It was fine and she unhooked the trailer last night, and right after she says she got the malfunction warning. She claims it seemed OK but later on it was lowered. Will not raise back up in the front. Seems really odd this happened immediately after unhooking trailer.

The issue with the GL air suspension is back. A couple of weeks ago it was completely flat while the wife was out of town. I drove up, found the fuse was blown, replaced it and it pumped right up and holds fine. SDS tests show the following:
-Component Y36/6y5 airmatic central reservoir charge valve is not operating properly and the line between valve block and the central reservoir leaks or the central reservoir leaks -Line between compressor and valve block leaks -Line Between central reservoir and valve block leaks It should be easy enough to check the line between the valve block and compressor, but where is the central reservoir located? Is the charge valve it refers to located on the central reservoir? Is it possible if it does have a leak between compressor and valve block, that would also be throwing the code for the central reservoir? My guess is the compressor is running too long and blows the fuse? It did not really seem to me to be running an abnormally long amount of time but who knows. |

I'll get in shop and take/post pic of one I just replaced on the GL450 application. You will need to replace the entire pump. The reservoir is actually part of the pump. The one I fixed had a leak but you could not see where the fault was just by looking at it.

The central reservoir is not part of the pump. It is back under the rear cargo floor area. After getting it back in the shop, the pump now tests bad. I have ordered a new pump and valve block and will hopefully get a warranty refund on the 1 year old pump that went bad.
