X164 diesel and petrol review/opinion

Looking at buy either GL350 cdi version or possibly the GL450. I am a Mercedes addict so I need some unbiased input. I will NOT REPEAT the W163. I've read about the air suspension issues. I love my OM648 but I also need some real life input on this v6 OM642 and if it's worth it.
