Fuel filter
My ML has just reached 65K, and am wondering if its time to have the fuel filter replaced. What about the air filter?
|
Yes, both are due at 60,000 or 4 years. The fuel filter will require modifications, a longer filter has been introduced which will require different hoses in the area of the filter. The filter is a little pricey, due to the fact it's also the fuel pressure regulator (returnless system).
To do the modification they/you will need to remove the left half of the rear seat and remove the lid above the fuel pump, once this is done it's fairly easy. I believe in our shop we quote 1.5 hours to do this job. Gilly |
Gilly,
My fuel filter (new fitment) squeals like crazy and is quite embarrassing. Thoughts? Robert |
I've heard of this happening, I think we had one in the shop doing this as well, I don't recall working on it myself. At any rate, the filter is defective and should be covered under spare parts warranty.
