Windshield single-wipe function
I’ve had my 02 320 for almost a year and still could not get used to the windshield wiper. Where is the single-wipe function described in the manual? The vehicle does not have rain sensor. According to the manual, move the stalk up briefly will result in a single-wipe action, but, it just does happen on mine. Is it a defect? Or it is just kind of design issue.
Could someone help me check on this? It for some reason really bothers me and it is the rainy season again. Thanks! |

You lift the right lever up til you just feel a little resistance, not so far that it clicks into the low speed position. Just lift it to that slight resistance and it'll wipe until you release it. Once it starts wiping, you can release the lever at that point and it will continue that sweep and then park.

Thanks Gilly for the precise instruction (the manual only says up briefly)! I'll try that tomorrow. It had a downpour here today and will be so tomorrow, as the weatherman said. I guess it is just one of those quirky things that needs some patience and practice :-)

Once you experience what it feels like, I'm sure it'll be second nature.

Tried it about 10 times this morning. It worked well about 3 times, others all over shoot. I guess I am just a slow learned, but, why MB couldn't make the wiper switch as easy to use as the light switch? Oh, well, I'll just live with it. the good thing is it is supposed to be dry for the next 10 days or so.
