'01 ML320 gear knob to '94 W124 question...
So my good friend gave me his ML320 gear knob. Now I can't put it in my car because the shift shaft is different. So I was gonna pick this up (number 11). IS that what I need to adapt my gearknob?

Yes, you need to buy a new shaft. It has to be the one for your car.
The new knob should simply screw on to the shaft. If it doesn't, you can simply glue it on. I have an S-class wood / leather knob on my W124, and it screwed on to the new shaft. A buddy of mine with an '86 300E simply cut off his old black knob with a utility knife, and glued on the new one. It looks fine. |
Thanks for the answer! By the way, do you have a picture of your chrome surround, I wanted to do that to my car.

Here is the page on performance product's website for the chrome shift surround:

You'll have to get a catalog. |
