If I have offended someone with my reply, I apologize. That was not my intent. The reason I suggested having the problem professionally diagnosed was that in the past I have made the mistake of replacing parts for what I THOUGHT was the problem instead of diagnosing the situation properly. This happened recently with the ML. After reading information from several sources, I convinced myself that the Mass Air Flow Sensor was the problem. Unfortunately, after replacing the part the check engine light and the poor running condition persisted. The true culprit was a bad catalytic converter which took a professional MB technician several hours to find. I needlessly replaced the Mass Air Flow Sensor and the money I spent would have covered the diagnostic costs for the catalytic converter
Again, I am sorry if I offended. I just wanted others to hopefully learn from my mistake. Alex Lynch Last edited by alex lynch; 02-01-2003 at 03:16 PM. |

yes $600 ca only...
A s500 or bmw 740 Maf costs $900 ca hehe.. now I know why bosch is so rich =) a maf is only a piece of wire that is heated, than cooled by the air flow to tell the engine how much air is going into it. the ob2 scanner is a very useful tool.. I have one at home and at work..
