Fender flare question

My ML320 has a fender flare. I noticed recently that the right rear side is flapping everytime the car gets a mild bump on the road. Thus it makes a little squeek or rattle.

Now i noticed the right side to be glued somewhat on the fender, my question is.

a. When they install the fender flares do thay just clip it or in additon to the clips and screws they stick it to the fenders.

b. If they do stick it, what kind of adhesive does MB use?
c. If they dont what harm could happen if i stick it with an adhesive aside from potentially damaging the paint whn i remove it later on?

Thanks in advance guys!

It's clips only, no adhesive.
