Can I replace the factory steeringwheel myself?

I just received the Wood/leather replacement steeringwheel for my ML today. I talked to the dealership and they want me to drop the car off and then charge me $86. I then called another European Automotive Shop and they want $112!!

Is this something that I can do myself? I am just worried about the airbag, but if I disconnect the battery that should not be a problem right? Has anyone done this??

Thanks in advance!!
Jason
