My 99 ML320 has 69,000 miles; when do you recommend changing the spark plug wires? Does anyone know what the factory wires are constructed of, and if it is better to stay with the factory wires or switch to Magnecor wires?

I don't recommend changing the plug wires. There is no maintenance spec for them.

Thanks Gilly. Are Mercedes constructed differently than most o.e. wires, which are usually replaced at about 40,000 miles on domestic vehicles?

Yes. The wires are "solid core" and use resistor ends on the wires, that is what the big metal shields are on the spark plug end of the wires. It's a good setup, I'd leave it alone.

Thanks Gilly for the explanation, I will leave like it is.
