Engine cover and drain plug gasket
How do you take off the black plastic engine cover. Just yank or are there hidden clips that need to be taken care of. Is there a drain plug gasket that I should replace if I decide to change the oil myself and where about is the drain plug.

The plastic engine cover just pulls off or, at least it does so on mine. There are two clips in the front, one on either side, and two in the rear.
The oil drain plug is on the passenger side of the vehicle on the end of the oil pan directly above the front sway bar. There is a copper crush washer between the drain plug and the oil pan which should be included with your new oil filter. Alex |
Thanks, this forum is always helpful.

oil changes
You should reconsider doing your own oil change. The oil drain plug is on the side of the oil pan and removal will spray oil everywhere. The correct method of oil removal is to draw the oil out from the dip-stick tube. There are special tanks made that draw the oil with vacuum. Or, the dealer could do it!
