ML55 brake sensor light
I went with the porterfield replacement brake pads for my ML55 from mymercedes.com. We had to drill the back pads for the wear sensors.
So far, they are much quiter and cleaner i'll keep you posted. The only problem is that now my brake sensor light is flickering on and off .. Is their a reset button or do I have a short or bad sensor???? |
There is no reset procedure, the sensor wire is getting a ground somewhere.

I responded to your thread in "Tech Help"

when the sensor
touches the rotor it will activate the low brake pad light.. I think the rotor acts as a ground? not sure.. but perhaps if you can't find a solution just remove the light bulb from the dash and check your brakes manually when u rotate your tires... I have mintex pads and they rock! brake dust is so easily washed away...

Sensor wires
I also replaced my pads with Porterfields on the ML55. Putting the sensor wire into the rear pads is no problem just have to drill hole into the brake material for the sensor tip, the slot for the sensor head works fine. The front pads are a different story, the slot for the sensor head is in the middle of the pad right under the retaining clip. Were you able to get the sensors for the front pads installed? If the brake sensor light is going on you have a short to ground somewhere, try pulling out each sensor wire one at a time until the light goes out.
