Block heater
 

For ease of winter morning starts, I'm considering the installation of an MB heater which, I'm informed, is of the in-line type. Can anyone tell me what is involved for the DIYer?

It attaches to the passengers side of the font of the block.
A new short hose is purchased which connects the water pump outlet to this new housing that the heater screws into. Also a new lower radiator hose is needed, a different shaped one.
Then the electrical wire is routed.
There are cast-in holes already there for the housing screws to go into, using self-tapping screws.
It's pretty easy.

Thanks Gilly -- sounds straight forward. Do you know the reason for the re-shaped lower rad hose or am I not understanding something? It has happened before!

The reason for the reshaped hose is that this metal housing that the heater screws into would be taking up part of the space of the original hose.
