Question ML shudder when turing

Questions from a newbee ML and 4wd owner.
I just purchased a '98 ML320 and notice that the vehicle has a shudder went making tight turns and applying the accelerator. Is this something to take to a dealership to have checked or is this normal as someone told me.
Both driver and passenger inside door panels have several of the "snaps" that hold the panel to the door popped out from around where the front speakers are located. Seems to me that the speaker is a very tight fit against the door panel. I was planning on removing the door panel and installing new clips. My question is can I remove the door panel without disturbing the air bag in the door and are there any precautions to removing the door panel.
Thanks for any assistance and or advice.

Near the end of the warranty period I asked my dealer to look over my '98 ML-320 for anything they thought needed fixing. They found a slight oil weeping around the transfer case shaft seal and suggested I schedule a time to have it replaced. When I took it in for the repair they informed me they would replace the transfer case with the later design, which would eliminate that shutter duling tight turns. My understanding is the shutter is the result of the 50/50 split between the front and rear axles. The later design (mid or late 1999 model year) uses a 48/52 ratio split which totally eliminated the shutter.I was quite surprised the dealer, and MB, would make this costly change since it was my understanding it would not lead to a premature failure.

transfercase

that info is correct on the 50/50 torque split on the early cases. We replaced a lot under warrnty, but later MB came out and said this is normal and would not pay to replace anymore. They will pay for complete failure or certain components. Some are worse than others and I have not figured out why yet, and I am sure some one out thier may have a fix , besides a new case wich runs about $2000 less labor.
