Anyone know where to get a Gray set? I don't mind if it's cloth or leather.

Thanks,
Tim

Try this, not the cheapest, but available. I've never bought from them though....:

Or

You might want to contact www.Clairparts.com by phone and see if they have any available, since they are real dealers. I've had great dealings with these guys

Still looking for Grey

I'm still looking for a grey third row seat. The link in the previous post only offered tan and charcoal (not grey or ash).

Thanks for any pointers!

Potomac German Auto www.MBPartsonline.com
has an ad in this months "STAR" mag showing surplus never installed seats, no price or year. They also show other ML stuff.

On your 1998, I believe "charcoal" is what they called the dark gray color. I think that's what you need.

Gilly-

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately from all the swatches I've seen on-line charcoal looks almost black. My leather is actually a light grey by comparison, and looks more like the "ash" i've seen online. Am I wrong about this?

Thanks,
Tim

For I believe 2000 and newer ML's, there were 3 color selections; Charcoal (almost black, not quite), Ash (light gray), and Java (tan or "buckskin")
But I believe in 98 and 99, there were only 2; Charcoal and Tan.
I may be wrong on this, I can't lay my hands on any 98 or 99 sales materials right now. But I do rather vividly remember for 98 and 99 that there were only 2 colors available for seat kits, and they were both available in cloth or leather.

Well, I'm sure my interior isn't dark enough to be almost black. In fact it's the same grey as in this picture:

http://home.netcom.com/~klazys/our_m7.htm

But I have full leather, not the cloth inserts. Does that qualify as ash or charcoal? I tried to do more searches on google on interior colors for 98 ML320's but didn't come up with anything.

Thanks,

Tim

That's the 1998-1999 dark gray or "charcoal" interior. The one in the image, as you alluded to, is the cloth, but other than the cloth inserts it should be the same as your interior (cloth inserts on the doors also). They didn't have "ash" in 98-99. Ash is VERY light in color, almost a silver-gray, very different than what was available in 98-99. DON'T get the ash if you have a 98-99. Also don't get "Java" (for those with the 98-99's), it's not the same as the tan color that they had in 98-99.

Gilly

PS I think you and I just have a different perception of what "almost black" is. I agree you can still tell the interior color is gray, but it is a very dark gray. A few more shades darker and it would be quite hard to tell it from black. There were only 2 colors in 98-99, this color you have, and a tan/slightly orange looking "buckskin" color.

If you get it let me know...

Let me know if you need help installing it, it shouldn't take you more than 4 hours for the job.. its very easy to install.. I have 3rd row seats in my ML, they are perfect for the kids... There is a local dealership here selling gray third row seats.. I get discount there, I can get it for around $2,000US.. Regular price is $4,000 canadian... Its cheaper if you bought it with the car!
