Power Steering pump
 
Has anyone had to replace thier power steering pump on '99 ml 320? I have 97k on the truck, Is this normal? How much does it cost? My truck is making a load whirring sound when the wheel is turned. The clamp recall was done a few months ago.

Check the power steering oil level just to be sure. Having the recall done is no guarantee, sadly enough......

Also possiblity is the belt tightener may be bad...
