Paris Dakar Rally

Anyone following it? I'm allways at work. Anyone know any good sites for MB's in the race? I hear an ML is in 15th and a unimog is around the same rank in the heavy truck catagory.

Here is a French site that is following a particular Unimog U500 thru the PD-Rally.

http://www.dakar-direct.fr.st/

For translation go to Google.com and pick [laungauge help] from the menu on the right.

In the French web site use the [RACE] menu selection to follow along with their journey.

Thanx for the links. Yes it is very hard to get info on indivdual rigs from this site.

Guess its better to modify course then risk deaths like last year. Though last years deaths were not related to border issues from what little I know.

The Dakar 2000 was also interrupted for 4 days, and three Antonov AN124 lifted the teams, incl media helicopters 2000 km from Niamey in Niger to Sabbah in Libya, where the rally resumed. (Jean-Pierre Strugo won the production class for Mercedes that year).
