You're just drawing at straws here if you think it's your starter (I read the other thread also). You need to find out more info on this before just tearing into it. Any idea if the battery voltage is OK and if you're getting circuit 50 to the starter? I'd slow down and test a few things before doing anything. If the starter is in fact bad, you may be better off just buying a reman starter, rather than having yours rebuilt. I've already replaced ignition switches in ML's, so there's one possiblity, or the range recognition switch may also give this symptom. I'd find out if the battery is OK or not, you could have been sold a bad one, or you may have a current draw making the battery go dead. Gilly

Thanks Gilly, I had the new battery checked its fine .All dash functions (lights) seem right when trying to start, I have voltage to the starter and also remember i couldnt jump start. I removed the wheel then the inner fender splash . Two torx bolts and the two connections and its out .I will bring it to a local rebuilder tues. and see what happens Thanks Matt

Well the story goes MB replaced the starter (560.00 parts) . Now it cranks but wont start ,after a few hour of diagnostics found no code but think its the AAM and or the ME boards (1500.00 parts) MB would give me the boards for 750.00 in good faith. Well they replaced the AAM only and the starter ,the truck now runs and starts fine 1600.00 later....... Thank you for your Forum to vent Matt
