Torsion Bar Cracking Noise FIX

Any ideas what the felt was used for?

Hi Steve, I had this repair done and it made the noise go away. One year later it was back with a vengeance and the dealer ended up having to REPEAT the entire procedure and found the shim had cracked again. But I believe the above is a TSB and will definitely fix the torsion bar cracking / clacking / clicking noise... |
Hey Roadsession. I believe this is a pretty easy DIY, however I understand where the shims are placed, just cannot figure out where the felt comes into play. I am about to order the parts, but am unsure if I should order the felt or not. I cannot find a diagram indicating its placement. Any ideas?
