Brake system failure indication
Last night, after driving for ten minutes, the ETS, ABS, and Brake System dash indicator lights came on suddenly. There was also a constant beeping alarm about 2 times a second whenever the vehicle was moving. The beeping would stop if there was no forward or reverse motion but the lights would stay on. Since the Brake System red dash light can indicate low brake fluid, I checked to find it at the max level mark. The braking seemed normal to me so I drove cautiously another 30 miles (and about 8000 ear piercing beeps) to my home. The dealer is about an hour drive so I would like to learn if this is a defect I can correct myself.
Have any of you experienced this and know what caused it? I will keep the vehicle garaged for a few days hoping to hear from Gilly or others. Thanks

Problem diagnosed
The dealer diagnosed the problem to be a faulty ABS pump which will cost $2,400 to replace, along with a new module that MB has designed to use with the new pump. The brakes seem to function fine, but the ABS function probibly isn't working. If I can find how to disable the constant beeping I'll drive it for a while and try to decide my next course of action. Maybe I'll give my local independent mechanic a shot at the ML-320.
Does anyone know how to disconnect the beeper that is used for the seat belts and parking brake?

Can't do it Tom, it's built in to the instrument cluster.
