Coolant Change

I aquired a 2000 ML 320 and am in the process of doing the routine stuff for peace of mind when getting a used car.

You can never tell with POs how anal they are with maintenance, and I have learned over the years that German cars need routine maintenance or they will eat you alive.

That being said, with the poor coverage of the ML series when it comes to maintenance manuals, I am collecting all I can about this new model in my garage.

I want to change/flush the coolant. I've read the article here:

http://www.keysolutions.com/M-Class.nsf

Is there a bleed valve on thie engine or does the high mounted over flow tank serve this purpose?

On my BMWs, its very easy to bleed/burp the sytem. I am hoping Mercedes is the same.

TIA-

Bill

The expansion tank takes the place of a bleed valve. There is a drain in the block as well as the radiator. Do a search; Gilly described the procedure in detail way back when.
