All the good shops in Albuquerque are already listed. The problem is that NM is a sparsely populated state. I've seen one MB repair shop called Beethoven's Garage in Santa Fe but I don't know anything about it. I seriously doubt there are ANY mercedes mechanics outside of Albuquerque or Santa Fe. In fact, the only MB Dealer in all of New Mexico is in Albuquerque.

I would agree, there MIGHT be an MB shop in Las Cruces or maybe Farmington, but not real likely. Lot more pickups than Benzes here

very good shop for german cars and esp. mercedes diesels. brothers roger and andreas run the shop now and do a heck of a job!

The shop referred to as Beethoven's is actually Motzart's on St. Francis. they did a little work on my 92 300D a few years back. I was happy with the work they did but they are a little pricey (compared to my indy in ABQ) and they do not take credit cards so no frequent flyer miles from the Amex card...

There's a place in Los Lunas called Hans that I see various Ben's sitting there, but have yet to stop and chat. Now that I have added the SL to the barn, I should start looking.
The SDL needs injector work, and i've been hesitant to try and find someone reliable as i just HATE that process! I recently discovered the guy I was using for the JEEP was "CREATING" repair situations and am still processing how I am going to git in his face about it!
There's an old guy tooling around town in an SDL and one day I hope to get the chance to ask were he gets it serviced.

Take your car to Mickey at Jim's Fine Cars in Albuquerque. I simply can't say enough good things about him. He even gave me his personal car as a loaner when mine was in for repairs. He is factory trained Mercedes and Porsche and is probably the best mechanic I've ever met.

For newer cars either Hans Wittler or Dan's Automotive are probably good shops. I have no experience with either. For older MB, however, I have my doubts. I just called both of them asking if they worked on older Mercedes cars (around 1984). Hans Wittler said absolutely no and recommended Dan's. Dan's would work on a Mercedes of that vintage but their time estimates seem a bit high. I don't particularly think that doing a valve adjustment should take a professional mechanic more than a couple of hours (which is about what it takes me, most of which is getting the throttle linkages back on and adjusted). They wanted double that. For them, a compression test is an all day job it appears. Sorry guys, no business from me unless there is absolutely no alternative.

that's odd, whittler did all my work on just those years, but that was in 03-04, so maybe they've gone all high tech on us! call (505) 256-3333 and speak with robert; he recently changed the name of his shop but it is near the corner of wyoming and central (on wyoming). he is a good mechanic and reasonable (or was)....slightly "fun" to deal with at times but aren't we all?
