MB repair shop in Boston/NH area

There is a German guy in Hampstead NH (not far from Salem, NH) He's very good but has a bit of an attitude. He has a garage adjacent to his house. He'll give you the straight dirt on your car. E-mail me @ "tlabrie@partners.org" for his name and number if interested.

Hi!

Let me see.

I trust these guys..

Euro Car Doctors - Boston, MA

617 262 5525

also

Koko's Garage - Cambridge, MA

617 576 2757

but Salem, NH is quite a distance away from the city where these guys are located. Have you tried Dreher-Holloway Mercedes in NH?

Looking for an MB shop near Boston

I'm looking for a reliable, independent MB specialist shop in the Lowell, Mass or Nashua, NH area. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thumbs up Hatch and Sons - Wayland, MA

www.hatchandsons.com

I bought my 1995 E420 from them and admittedly I paid a lot for this car. But they did put new brakes on it, new shocks, new belts, tensioner, oil change, etc.

The car also came w/ a stack of receipts (frequent oil changes, frequent services, checks, bushing replacements, filters, etc etc etc. from the previous owner who had Hatch and Sons maintain the car)

The car drives really well and since I've had the car, the A/C had been cutting off (low speed aux. fan didnt work)

They were always nice when I brought the car in and gave me nice W124 loaner cars.

The first time I brought it in, they replaced the viscous fan because it was noisy, and ordered some switch for the aux. fans.

I then brought it back in two weeks after and got another loaner car to put in that switch, tune the transmission and glue some delaminating vinyl pieces in the car.

Great service, and .. you gotta see the sea of MB's of all kinds there...

thumbs up for Ed Owen!

good body shop for MB in and around Boston, MA

Could you recommend good body shops in and around Boston, MA?

Should I find "MB only" body shop?

Another question:

Some people recommend the followings for mechanical repair.
1. dealer
2. independent shop that services only MB

What if someone recommends a shop for MB, but the shop repairs some other foreign cars ?

Arrow Fellsway Foreign Motors

There is a fellow just of Rt 93 in Medford. A bit of a hike for you I suppose. This report is on hear-say only, and a good review in Cars.com. I do know that he is indipendant, works alone, and works on M-Bs, (plus an occational BMW).

Thumbs up

I have a great shop in Wakefield, John's Foreign Car, a father and 2 sons (John, Tom and Mike). They specialize in MBs and have been in business for about 40 years. I've been going to them for over 10 years. Very fair and honest and they know their stuff. 781-246-0959.

If you want the very best repair for your MB, go to Hatch and sons in Wayland. Expensive but if you want the best, it's worth it. They did some work on my 69 280SL, big dough, but absolutely perfect workmanship.

They are more expensive but you get what you pay for. I have had work done at both Hatch and the dealer. I have a showroom new 400E that has never had any paint work at all and if god forbid, I got whacked, I wouldn't take it to any place other than Hatch. I would pay the extra money to have it done so I would be happy. My Rover was fixed at the dealer (same as the local MB dealer) and every time I walk by it, I see some small thing that should have been fixed right in the first place, and I get mad. I even brought it back at least 5 times having things fixed, redone, re-adjusted etc. I never had to bring my SL back to Hatch, it was perfect, expensive, but perfect from the beginning.

Anyway the bottom line is you get what you pay for, either you pay a bit more to have it done right, or the shop cuts corners to make its profit under the insurance company-set labor rates ($32/hr) and your car pays the difference with sub-standard work.
