Just curious, but what was wrong with Ditmire's? Are they too expensive or do they do bad work?

if you guys dont mind traveling to staten island u can visit my dads shop. Its on 1301 Travis Ave in Staten island. they have been in business for over 30 years. they are MERCEDES SPECIALISTS. it is the only one here in staten island. the shop is big and extremely clean and well kept. the head mechanic vito works magic when it comes to diesels. over 30 years of mercedes expiernce make these guys incredible when it comes to your problems. the shop is minutes away from the goethals bridge. if you would like to speak to them personally the # is 718-938-9898, ask for vito, he will help you out.

I use Precision Cars in Atlantic City. They are a little high but they do the work and fix the problem.I don't mind paying more if the problem gets fixed and I am guessing most MB owners are the same way.Happy driving

I just starting reading this forum and noticed your post from last year. I have a 1995 E320 (176K). I use Wolfgang's in Tenafly. He is a pretty large independent garage and works only on MB. He has loaner cars (old diesels). He's German and was trained at MB in Germany. He does restorations and works on many old cars. I'm bring mine in tomorrow for the wiring harness (expensive). Hope this helps.

I've been using him for years. He is fair and competent.

I've noticed Udo. Is he strickly MB repairs and does he have loaner cars?

I trusted my car to Lee's Garage to have my rust issues properly addressed. I was however disappointed and surprised by their service. Here is the sequence of main events:

* A mere month after their first intervention, the rust was back. I was assured that this was an isolated incident which would be addressed properly. I was however told that I would need to pay for another rental car since they were "not making any money on this repair", even though I had never questioned their asking price, and made clear that my purpose was to have my car taken care of properly, not to get a cheap fix.

* However, another mere month later, the rust is back again... So I cannot recommend that shop...

Recently I was rear ended and I went to what I think is the best body shop in Central New Jersey.

They really make the car the same as new, even painting the bolts and restoring the decals under the hood.
