Anyone have any suggested MB techs they'd recommend in the CT area? Need one with 2.3-16 proficiency and that is reasonable. Anywhere in the Hartford / UCONN area is best, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks all.

MB in CT

I don't know either, I drive a E55 and sometimes have my doubts what they do or don't do.
Have a look under "Any good shops in NY/NJ", Grapes.
He recommending someone on Bedford Hills, it is not CT but pretty close.
Good luck with more recommendations,
Holger

The guy I use is the shop foreman at Carriage House in New London. He lives in Salem (has huge garage on his property), but is worth the trip. I have him wrench all 3 of my cars. However, if I need something small-ish done, I use the European Car in Canton.

Question Looking for excellent Fairfield County CT mechanic

I prefer independents, but feedback on local dealers welcome too. Thanks in advance for any information.

Wanted: Reputable MB mechanic in Hartford, CT area

My 1992 300TE 4Matic wagon, M103 engine, (131K) has a blown head gasket and I need to get it repaired. I have had a bad experience with the local Hartford MB dealer, (New Country), so I'd prefer someplace else. If any of you have a MB mechanic you trust in the Hartford area or within a 50 mile radius, please pass on the name and location - it will be very much appreciated. Thanks.

A bit of a hike, but Classic Motor Car in Branford is excellent. Only Mercedes, know the cars in and out, meticulous work, reasonable prices. 203-483-1991

Michael

That's not too far. I have since had the repairs done that I needed, but I'm glad to know of a reputable place to go if something else arises, (which is sure to happen). Thanks.

Glastonbury Foreign Auto. They are a couple of French brothers who basically only service high-end european cars. Very fair and honest, with no BS ever. Just don't pull in there with a Japanese car, they can be a bit snobby when it comes to asian cars sometimes.

Thanks for the reply-I don't get there often. Hoping to find someone coastal, south eastern,Ct. J&J in Madison seems good-although couldn't find the time to walk outside and look at my antenna! So...a place a little more user friendly might be nice!
Thanls again-Mel

I live in the Hartofrd area and I posted an inquiry back in February looking for a reliable mechanic for my '92 300TE 4Matic and got two responses: one for a shop in Glastonbury and one in Branford. This is what they said:
1. Classic Motor Car in Branford is excellent. Only Mercedes, know the cars in and out, meticulous work, reasonable prices. 203-483-1991; and
2. Try Glastonbury Foreign Auto. They are amazing European mechanics.

I never tried either, becas\use by the time I received a reply I had had the work done, but maybe it'll help you.
