Angry Millenium Auto Group in NJ says Go to hell?

I'm trying to organize a joint GTG for MBUSA, BenzWorld and Mercedesshop for central jersey USA
Here is the whole, true story.
Well, It appears that Millenium Auto group, (An Official Mercedes Dealer) in Bridgwater NJ will not be participating in the NJ GTG. After leaving 3 e-mails, and 4 phone calls, which he refused to return, I went over there and left a message for the owner that he wouldn't return my calls or e-mails, which he intercepted. THEN The sales manager called me, and told me to Tell Benzworld, Mercedesshop and MBUSA that he dosn't need our business and to take our members and shove them up my ass.
Jeez. all I wanted was some flags and **** for a local event.
Guess he blew it bigtime....
This moron never even heard of MBUSA. or any of us for that matter.
So... On to MBHQ. The search continues.
I left another message for the owner and saved the sales manager's message on my phone which I will play back to the owner and see if the owner makes up for it. If not, I won't be doing any business with them at all.
If anyone is a member of MBUSA, post it over there too for me. I think they'd be interested in knowing this.
Thanks

Sounds to me like the sales manager doesn't share the same passion we do. He is just punching a clock. Hopefully he will realize the mistake he made.

Two possibilities:

1. Sales of new and used Benzes must be SO GOOD, they don't need any more business.

2. The sales manager is married to the owner's sister and thus feels that he can get away with that kind of nonsense.

here it is for everyone else.
The message I left for the owner with the secretary was Please call me, I am putting on a car show and your Sales Manager refuses to return my calls after waiting 2 weeks.
Note: the key words in the message are "I recieved the message you left for the owner" and 2, "take your 50,000 people and shove em up your ass."
You want blood, you got it.

Wow,
That is compelling audio evidence. I have been misled and lied to by dealership employees, but I have never run into someone in business dumb enough to speak to anyone like that, let alone leave a message like that for a potential customer/booster. I have found that most of these MB dealership "white collar" people are actually less pleasant than a used car dealer. I believe these people are used to dealing with customers with more money than brains and they somehow think that their rubbing elbows with near-do-wells gives them the right to speak to you in any fashion they like. I have been to Millennium for service on occasion since I could not stand the attitude and the hustler machinations of the service people at the dealership where I purchased my car. I can only say that at this point I don’t know if I will ever buy another Benz while I live in New Jersey. The funny thing about that recording is that Anthony doesn't seem to be able to count; So I guess he won't miss us!

Try Benzel Busch or Prestige

Hey There-

I would suggest contacting Prestige Mercedes in Paramus, NJ or Benzel Busch Mercedes in Englewood, NJ. They are fantastic dealers and would more than likely enjoy the attention.... Benzel Busch is Family owned and has a HUGE an private Maybach showroom.....

just my 2cents-
Michael

I'm a salesman. People constantly surprise and amaze me. There have been times when everybody I worked with sized up a potential customer and wrote them off as a waste of time and so I tried to help them.

In quite a few cases they turned out to be very good customers and in several instances they were more loyal to me than other customers. This was in a retail environment and I no longer work in that capacity, but I've never found treating others with respect and courtesey to come back and haunt me. Being rude, inconsiderate, and disrespectful can REALLY cost you. I don't care whether you're a salesman or not. The Golden Rule really does seem to work pretty well for me.

He probably was fed up with customers saying "I read it on MercedesShop" blah blah. What an ass. Way to drum up business. What's the old saying in retail: do right by ONE customer and he tells maybe 5 people. Screw ONE person and he tells EVERY ONE HE KNOWS.

Angry DaBen

About a month ago my daughter called and said the 92 2.5 Turbo was hard to start. I mentioned glow plugs, but her husband was taking it to Millennium and I felt that would solve the problem. She called in a few days and said that there was too much wrong and they wouldn't fix it, but did estimate $12,166 to do it right. But, due to it's age and condition refused to touch it. I made a trip to NJ from Williamsburg, VA pronto and went to the service advisor and he told me tale woe. I had to pay $122 for the diaganosis to get the key and take a look at it. They said that there was probably a bend rod and water in the crancase and maybe a bent crankshaft, leaking injector pump as well as a leaking differential. I checked the oil and it showed no water, the coolant was clean, no oil. I stated if fright off and a noise you have never heard before from a Diesel as well as white smoke. I called a mechanic (retired) friend of mine and we talked about the car with only 218,000 and in excellent condition in and out. Right off he mentioned fuel, had I sniffed the tank. That hit the nail right on the head. I couldn't sleep that night. My daughter has been driving Diesels since 1982 and knows what a Diesel pump looks like, but I questioned her and she had fueled at a Hess very close to Millenniun and put $20 of fuel in. In NJ you don't fuel yourself. She got to a mall and then after that it wouldn't start. The service advisor told me the next morning that it couldn't be the fuel and that their best diagonistition had checked the car out. We we ready to tow it to Walter's in Bethlehem, PA, but had it taken to a local shop, take drained and filters changed and it ran like new again. Upon my arrival home I called a Diesel-head friend and he said Millennium had diagnosed it as a 92 SDL and that was it. A letter to the owner and a credit was issued for my $122 diagnositic fee. End of tale.

Any of you New Jersey Guys near East Orange?

I'm trying to get an '81 300td wagon checked out to see if it's worth buying. I spoke with Arpi at European Tech in Emerson and he's certainly willing to inspect it at his shop, but doesn't want anything to do with picking it up - no big suprise, East Orange is like 22 miles south.

Nor does the lot guy want anything to do with delivering it - though he says anyone can come by and pick it up to bring to a mechanic. And i don't think he's ever seen a diesel before - so he can't really tell me much except that it has some rust and it starts up but wont shut-down.

I've been trolling on this forum for a few months now to learn as much as i can about these diesels and have finally registered - i figure if anyone can help me it'd be someone on this forum - Thanks!

Try my mechanic

I live in Montclair, and, although my mechanic is very pricy (can you find a cheap MB mechanic), he is honest and usually works with your budget.
KOS Motorcars, Montclair NJ.
He has diesels in and out of there all the time.
