I was introduced to an independent M.B. shop by my brother who is also a Benz owner. The owner told me he had worked for M.B. since the early 1950's his son also has at least 20 years experience with MBs. They recently fixed a difficult intermittent ABS/BAS problem that plagued me for many months since it did not occur all the time. The dealership gave me a song and dance and prepped me for spending thousands if I gave them the go ahead. Belem Motors fixed that problem and did a 100,000-mile service for a reasonable price. They had previously solved similarly niggling problems on my brother's car without the typical calls from a dealer's "service advisor" telling you to get ready to hand over your wallet! They also do inspections. If you have to leave your car they are a ten minute walk to the NJ Transit train station on the “North Jersey Coast Line”.
These people are honest and courteous and that is not easy to find in New Jersey anymore.
