Would you care to relate your story?

I would like to take a minute to ABSOLUTELY confirm edges comment. I grew up less than a mile from Nicos, and they have been happily screwing the people of north stamford for 30 years. I HATE them.

I look forward to edges story, but heres a few to add-

1. Went there with my volvo when I turned 16 (before I knew anything about cars) cause it needed a new muffler. $900 dollars later, they lost two hubcaps, then told me I never came in with them. Actual cost of the part was less than 100 dollars, and they only replaced the one part with a generic brand muffler, yet charged me for a full volvo exhaust system. It also took them a week to get this done.

2. Charged my CA resident grandmother $600 dollars to replace front rotors and pads on a 96 caravan when she inadvertently went down there without consulting me. Actual problem was the car had been sitting and the lines needed to be re-bled after a leaking line was replaced, original rotors and pads were high quality, less than two years old, and the pads had 90% life left in them. They took this opportunity to screw an older woman in the name of safety. It would cost less than $600 bucks to replace ALL brake parts on ALL wheels on that car, labor included. She told me where she took the car and I asked her to get those parts back. After the cheap **** they put on there warped and wore out in less than a year, I put the original stuff back on the car and its still going now.

3. Again another family member was trying to do me a favor and went there AGAIN with my 83 300D couple years back to get an oil change. Somehow, the oil change cost over 100 bucks, think like 120 or something even though my sister PROVIDED MY oil and MY filter I had in the car, and they also broke my window switches. Of course, that was my sister fault, they were broken when she got there.

As a further comment, these guys are KNOWN scumbags to the neighborhood, go to any the the local deli's or shops, and ask them. Everyone will tell you that fuel is cheap at the filling station, but don't let them touch your car, and you will get more of these types of stories. The head tech is also someone you would not want sitting in your car. Just about as creepy as they come.

Special warning to women on this place. You won't walk out with less than a $500 dollar safety problem quoted.

Problem is that they are very well located, but a new shop opened just up the street from Nico's which is honest and better. Like another half mile on the left.

Picked up my car there and noticed a freakin' dent in the driver's side front panel with white paint scrape on it. I complained and he said it didn't happen there and that the car came in that way! Immediately looked around and saw a white car that he had moved away with a fender scraped with my paint on it! After 45 minutes on carry on, the miserable f*ck finally fessed up. I said I would take it to my body guy and give him the bill. He refused and said he would have it fixed. When I picked it up, the body work was atrocious freakin' unacceptable. It look like someone didn't know what he was doing which was correct because he did it himself! I demanded that he take it to a profession which he did. It took many days and I still couldn't get my car. He finally tells me that it's at a (el cheapo) body shop so I go pick it up. However, Nico, that mofo, hadn't paid the bill and the shop wouldn't release my car unless the bill was paid!!! Motherf@#$%! So here I am without car and Nico was trying to shake this guy's price down! I call Nico and screamed at him that if he didn't paid for the freakin body work, I would firebomb his ENTIRE FREAKIN' ***** GAS STATION and I was livid. after anoth 30 minutes of him haggling with the bodyshop, I get my car. I was so pissed that for 2 weeks after, I was actually planning on throw a freakin' rock through his large glass window. Nico is a SCUM that someday is going to F*ck with the wrong people and get his. Peace out.

Another satisfied customer from Nico's foreign car service and his tradition of honesty and quality service. It seems his whole "your car came in like that" shtick is pretty across the board. What a SOB that guy is

Did the cheapo body shop at least do a decent job? Is that another place it would be worth avoiding?

It was better but it was not good. It was wavy. It sullied my love for my 85 300SD because every time I looked at it before getting into the car, it really bothered me. I ended up selling the car and have been without a diesel until a year ago when I bought my current 83 300D.

Did you meet the creepy as all hell tech Nico has working on the cars? I find that guy really disturbing. The idea of him sitting in the seat of my car bothers me, even if Nico was even remotely honest and worthy of taking vehicles to, I probably still would not cause of that guy.

You mean the guy who looks like a serial killer? Yeah, he's creepy.

lol, yeah, thats the guy. Reminds me of a fat version of buffalo bill from the silence of the lambs.

The sad thing is that down the street for years there used to be a gulf station, nicknamed the "horse station" since there was a fiberglass horse out front all year during business hours. That guy was super honest and good, one time, even came down and unlocked my mothers car for her after hours when she was stuck at some street mailboxes.

Couple years back, he was in a bad car accident in a customers vehicle and got completely F-ed up for the long term, leaving all repair work north of the highway right there to SOB Nico. For years the station just drifted, I think his brother was trying to keep it going or something. In the last year, a new guy bought it and seems pretty honest.
