Closing in on

"Two inspectors general have asked the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation into whether Hillary Rodham Clinton mishandled sensitive government information on a private email account she used as secretary of state, senior government officials said Thursday."

Criminal inquiry sought in Hillary Clinton's use of email

Fat chance that this investigation will move along. More likely it will be buried like all the other scandals the current administration has attended.

But, all this "smoke" certainly is showing the real Hillary.
The American public is slow to catch on, but looking at the latest polls shows promise that they are. The democrats better look to a new candidate.
Go Jim Webb! I know he's a long shot. So was Jimmy. It can happen

And now this story has been proven to be a fake. It looks like the New York Times was punked on this story by a source that wishes to not be known.

The real story is that the Justice Department is looking into how the State Department dealt with some E-mails that were classified and that they just released since they were some Hillary sent while she was S. of State. The Justice Department wants to know how classified material was made public.

Hillary was not around when these documents were released and had nothing to do with them so a Democratic Congressman asked the Justice Department what was going on. Justice said they didn't know where the story about looking into Hillary came from but that it was 100% untrue.

More on the story: Official: Clinton emails included classified info - CNNPolitics.com

Washington (CNN)The inspector general for the intelligence community has informed members of Congress that some material Hillary Clinton emailed from her private server contained classified information, but it was not identified that way.

Because it was not identified, it is unclear whether Clinton realized she was potentially compromising classified information.

The IG reviewed a "limited sampling" of her emails and among those 40 reviewed found that "four contained classified [intelligence community] information," wrote the IG Charles McCullough in a letter to Congress.

How do you not know you are passing classified data?

When it's not marked as such.

I would hope someone at her pay-grade would be able to discriminate classified from unclassified information.

You and I, I would guess were exposed to classified information without being on the access list but we knew outside our little world we weren't suppose to discuss it.

That's not the Sec. of State's job. Those decisions are made elsewhere and in Clinton's case they were made after she left office.

I knew a guy in the Army Surplus business that bought some old rain gear from the Army. He picked up 436 pieces at .11 cents each and sold them in his shop for around $8 each.

And then, a few years later, the US Army wanted them back. It seems the rain gear had been reclassified as something that could not be sold to the public.

He put the letter up on his bulletin board with a note that if you bought one of these the Army wanted it back. He left it up a few years and finally it fell apart so he took it down.

He never heard from the Army again, so somewhere out there are 436 people wearing top secret rain coats when they go deer hunting.

Each sheet of classified documents is marked with the classification in red letters, top and bottom. If the document is composed of several portions at different levels of classification then the whole document has the highest level.

One cannot quote even a classified document in any manner without written permission of the classifying authority.

Now it's true that bigwigs do it all the time and nothing happens, the bastards. In reality it seems as though the law only apply to analysts, technicians, military and scientists.

No. You can't. It's based on a series of criteria that most people who don't classify information for a living, couldn't know.

And when it comes to treaties, even Foreign Disclosure Officers (FDOs) and Security Specialists have to refer to the books.

I have been at meetings where generals asked people whether or not compiled info was classified and no one knew. Then the G2 rep got the assignment to confirm/refute the status of the stuff. The meeting adjourned until that could be done, so it got done right away.

Besides which, information from some typical sources can be declassified in the public interest. Like bin Ladin death photos even though the sources was SIOP.

Actually there's quite a colorful pallette, depending on classification.

Only secret stuff is often marked in red, with a red cover sheet.

Only ORCON info requires permission. For the rest, the answer is no, unless you have derivative classification authority.

Besides, no one gets to see classified unless:

1. They have received a favorable background investigation of the scope required for their position sensitivity. But this is waived in the case of presidential appointments.

2. They have received an indoc about the level they will have access to

3. They have signed a non-disclosure agreement

4. They have a need to know.

And people, including members of the President's cabinet, have been told by some people that they don't have an automatic need to know. It's really funny to see them gasp and ask people " Do you know who I am?" You gotta bite your tongue sometimes to keep from laughing at the puffed-up bureaucrats.

And so it goes.....
