The quote is from 2015 but this guy is still in office. He got re-elected in 2016. The guy supports rape in a marriage and people voted him back in. How the heck does that happen?

Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) told reporters that the Senate Judiciary Committee’s inability to attract Republican women might be caused by its heavy workload, a remark the panel’s chairman tried to retract a few minutes later.

“It’s a lot of work — maybe they don’t want to do it,” Grassley told the Wall Street Journal, NBC News and other outlets, as he headed toward the Senate floor for a speech by Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine).
I bet he tried to walk it back. Misogynistic old fool.

How does that qualify for misogyny?

He just said women weren't capable or willing to do work.

If he had said that the judiciary workload was so great that few people wanted to serve it would have gone nowhere. Because the question specified women he specified women. So naturally, he’s a sexist. That’s how it works.

Then why didn't he answer it as if the question was unfair?

You've outdone yourself in trying to make him out to be a fumbling but innocent egalitarian.

God, no kidding. Troglodytes. They walk among us.

Up to the present moment, the grief that DiFi got for this latest thing was a trip. I suspect she didn't want to bring Ford into the mix, she thought Kavanaugh would be shot down before that. The vitriol dumped on her, and Ford, is just a bit much.

At one of Trump's rallies, not long after he dumped on Ford the crowd started chanting 'Lock her up, lock her up, ....'

No, no, we're talking about Grassley. The guy is a dinosaur. Samantha Bee nailed him. Grassley had said “I'd hate to have someone ask me what I did 35 years ago.”

Bee:

“Chuck, 35 years ago, you were 50 and a senator!” Bee said. “You looked like a cereal spokesman and were trying to ban abortion.”

Edited to add: I see that TX last posted in Nov '17.

Bee is no dummy. Humorists have been with us for a long time for a reason. A good humorist can cut through the crap faster than many politicians, scholars even. Mark Twain was good at it. The knee jerk sneering at comedians is weak. And worn out. You could watch the link. She nailed a couple of ossified pelts (R) to the wall.

I certainly can’t compete with the profound insights of a team of writers and a TV comic.
