Dems Depressed This Fouth of July

Trumps agenda is winning across America and has the dems rolled back on their heels.

Adding that "everywhere we look, our most fundamental values are under attack," Perez referred to problems surrounding low-paying jobs, health care, immigration, injustice to people of color and members or the LGBTQ community, a recent Supreme Court decision on public unions, and the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy.

"Thousands of children have been separated from their parents at our southern border," Perez said. "At our highest court, workers' rights are being taken away, voting rights are under assault, Muslim Americans are being discriminated against for their faith, and women's right to choose is under threat like never before."

The Republicans, in control of the White House and Congress, issued a more upbeat statement about the Fourth of July.

"As we celebrate more than two centuries of independence, we honor the patriots who declared America a free nation in 1776," said Ronna McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee. "We also remember and thank our service members for their lasting dedication and countless sacrifices to guard our liberties."

McDaniel pledged "to uphold America’s founding principles and continue to fight for our inalienable rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all."

Losing an election isn't all that bad. You should be a Republican.

What was it about 48% of those that voted no longer have faith in the Democrats are working for their interests and chose the lesser evil.

In a repetitive government that should have signaled that there should have be a change of policy by the democrats in order to represent at least some of the interests of that 48%. Instead the Democrats have forted up and demonized and called the 48% a manner of names and accused them of all manner of in-pure thoughts alienating the 48% even further from the Democratic Party.
In short if you don't want to catch Fish use bait that you know the Fish don't like.

The next Presidential Election is going to be really interesting because the Democrats have not changed their losing game plan.

Their winning game plan seems to wholly revolve around the legalization of the Illegal Alien Vote. Which is decidily not to the benifit of US Citizens.

So Democrats keep persuing the same Game Plan and insulting 48% of the Fans and you will likely be seeing President Trump for another 4 Years.

My, now THAT's a fresh thought! Hadn't heard that one before.

Actually, what I think it is, demos recognize that many Americans just don't want to do the work that illegals do, short of six figure incomes perhaps and the market won't support that. Imports would take over first.

So we have an odd dysfunction in our land. People don't like Chinese trade but load up their shopping carts with inexpensive Chinese goods, getting better in quality all the time. People whine about Latino migration but go out to the fields sometime and tell me how many gringos you see picking that stuff.

Oh yes, I've heard it before: GUEST WORKER PROGRAM!

Seldom discussed is the fact that earlier programs of that sort withheld some of the pay, which was supposed to be remitted when they went back home only it wasn't.

Nature abhors a vacuum. Your kneejerk answers don't cover it.

The only thing centering around the illegal alien vote is D'ump's excuse for losing the popular vote.

Or, we could simply allow more legal immigration. I am OK with the guest worker program with the exception that who makes sure they go back home?
Or perhaps our large Convict population could do the work.

Story time:
In the early 1970's I was on a Bus coming down from the very top of Northern CA. As we progressed south the Bus filled with Hispanics.
The Border Patrol stopped the Bus and removed 5 people. There was other people on the Bus illegally but they had Tickets back to Mexico so the Border Patrol simply let the go on their way.

It might not have been a majority of the popular vote but if I recall it was about 48%, and that is a considerable percentage of the votes.

It could be that in the next Presidential election the Democrats could get the people that did not vote off of the butts and vote.

It also could be that Trump does something successfully something that gets more then 48% of the voters to vote for home the next time. Clearly insulting the people that voted for Trump is not going to be a help to the Democrats.
Special interest groups an immigration

I'll bet plenty of prisoners would like chance to pick fruit. But try finding an orchard owner who would be big on it. Would need to be subsidized big time. If it were apples, govt. would need to pay the pickers cuz the grower knows he's going to have lower skilled workers. And if you don't think a Latino apple picker is skilled, I challenge you to keep up with a good picker for one day. I've got large money says you couldn't do it. One day would be hard, a whole season? No way.

And they don't have infinite ladders. Slower pickers means they need more ladders.

If people want to hire temp farm workers from abroad they should also have to pay their Medical Expenses while they are here. And, the Worker's families need to stay home.
It used to be that besides the Worker the other members of the Family including the Kids worked as they got paid only for how much picked.

So we should not return to the old system.

If the republicans are interested in the pursuit of happiness they sure have an odd way of showing it.

Around here soy bean growers are looking at prices that are 9% below what they were last year. Who can be happy about that sort of cut in income?

Over in Iowa things are even worse. Both senators from Iowa, both republicans, have come out strong against Trump's tariffs, pointed out that they will cost farmers there hundreds of millions of dollars.

And do you own a dairy farm? If not, and you always wanted to, you can now pick one up cheap. Or you can wait a few months and pick one up at a bankruptcy sale for even cheaper.

Of course, if your town has recently been taken over by MS-13, and then liberated by ICE, then you have a good reason to be happy. But since this has not happened anywhere in the US outside of Trump's head the number of people rejoicing over this is understandably small.

Any traditional Republican who puts principle over party loyalty opposes Trump tariffs. Von Mizes rolls in his grave.
