Sound Proofing my car with modern materials?

Well I finally chased down a rattle, a metallic clinking sound, in my right C-pillar that has been bothering me for 2 years now. Took 3 days and 3 different friends, as well as removing the back seat, C-pillar cover, seatbelt assembly to find it. Got me thinking about tightening up my car with modern soundproofing ie: Dynamat, Great Stuff, etc.
Do any of you guys have any suggestions? My parcel shelf seems to flop a bit over big bumps so I'm thinking of taking it apart and re-securing it. May as well add a layer of sound insulation while I'm in there. Same for the doors.
Thanks for your suggestions.
