Slime Tire Sealant
After cruising around the new property last weekend I ended up with 3 and 3/4 flats on my ATV the following morning and tried this stuff after the advice of a local farmer http://www.slimesealant.com/ this is an eco safe flat PREVENTITIVE for bikes tractors atv's and motorcycles. You put it in your tires before you get the puncture and it's supposed to work for 2 years.

I used the stuff on our jet ski trailer. Picked a used jet ski up a few weeks ago with my son in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Came with a brand new trailer. Drove about 120 miles and stopped to check everything out and one tire was down to about 12 psi, and it was pretty hot. The other side was up around 45 psi, and cool. Put 45 psi in the low side and checked in another 120 miles. It was down to about 20 psi, not really hot. So I bought a few cans of that slime stuff and squirted about half a can inside the tire. Then, like instructions say, I drove for a while at medium speeds. Next check it was at about 35 psi, still leaking. So I put the rest of the can in there. It has not leaked anything in three or four weeks. Not bad. Jim

I've used it in bicycle tires, and have had really good luck with it. I used to get flat tires on a trail on a regular basis...between the Slime and a plastic shield that goes between the tire and the rubber, I never had a flat again (to this day, actually).
When I was new to driving, I asked a tire shop guy about using it in car tires, and got laughed at...he then told me to never use it 'cause it gunks stuff up... *shrug* |

my dad had a tire shop for a while, and I'll never forget the outburst of 4 letter sailor-speak when one of the tire techs busted his first slimed tire and got... well... slimed. apparently the owner wasn't convinced the slime was entering the tire and used more than reccommended. what a mess.
the customer had come in with balance issues due to all that gunk sloshing around in there. Slime isn't supposed to be used for auto preventative care. supposed to work though- for emergencies... k

Tire guys hate it because it's a pain sometimes and it's not a traditional patch but I'd rather have the preventitive qualities while riding my ATV in the middle of nowhere. |

My problem is the two blown-out lumbar discs in my back. They haven't been bothering me over the last couple of months, though, so I'm thinking about giving my bike another try... |

i have had slime in my mountain bike tires for the last three years or so (maybe more) no flats.
of course i also have that plastic thing that goes between the tire and tube and heavy duty tubes too.. most of my riding (in 2000) was to and from work. decided to ride my bike, and kept at it from feb to november at least four/ five times a week. 15 nmiles each way. i used to get lotsa flats at first, but the slime did the trick. the tubes and plastic thing werent as effective as when i used the slime. i still keep using all three because if one preventative measure is good, then three must be better. now that i play rugby i dont need to kill myself riding to work. i just do it on the rugby field.
