Baby on Board signs

What I am supposed to do when I see these signs on peoples' cars?

I don't get it. Am I supposed to drive differently because they have a baby in their car?

Maybe they are just proud of their offspring and want to declare to everyone that they have a baby and they have a car. I think there are other ways to proclaim this emotion. maybe not.

KirkVining 08-25-2004 01:35 PM

I have one that says "Baby, I'm bored".

rickg 08-25-2004 01:38 PM

I guess they're supposed to stop you from ramming their car when they drive like idiots.

You are to yearn for the 80's, a time when self absorbed YUPPIE's roamed free accross the land.

Maybe they should have one for the driver: "Idiot on Board". You should copyright that, Jen

MTI 08-25-2004 02:08 PM

I thought those signs were reflecting on the lack of emotional growth of the drivers . . . hmmm. :D

Baby on Board sign mean,

"Stay out of my way, I'm yapping on the cell with other
mothers/expecting friends, I'm not paying attention to
the traffic around me and I'm speeding, putting my
baby in danger of not reaching her/his first birthday.
Don't you dare metion this to me because I will flip
you the bird and curse you out."

And then we're all surprised that most people don't
know how to drive.
How can they learn, when their parents set a poor example.

Louis.

For some reason the honor student stickers bother me. I don't understand why people feel they must state things on their bumpers  It is nice of them to provide me with reading intraffic but than they flip you off for riding their tail. If I had a bumper sticker it would say "if you can read this back off $&*^(%#"

koop 08-25-2004 03:48 PM

I don't have kids but feel for the honor student parents. I suspect it goes something like this.

Daddy, I made the honor roll, look what the teacher gave me

Gee, honey that's great

Can we put it on your new S500 Daddy, can we.

uhh, well honey it's a new car and uhhh I just waxed it and uhhh

PLEEAASSSEEEEEE

*damn teachers"

I hate those 'honour' student stickers even worse than 'baby on board'. At least the BOB one's can be useful, they can make you think even if the minivan displaying it is driving worse than everyone else.

The honour one's are just to make the parent feel superior: 'my child is a...' etc- nobody gives a ***** except you, and we don't wanna hear about it either.
I wanted to make a 'my child is a top dunce at the school of idiots' sticker :)

MS Fowler 08-25-2004 06:12 PM

My typical reaction to the BOB stickers is, " Wow! I was going to ram you and your vehicle, but not now!"

There is a dump truck driver around here ( Bel Air, MD) with a baby doll NAILED onto a board, attatched to his grille. I laugh everytime I see it.

rickg 08-25-2004 06:20 PM

We have logging trucks out here with plastic spotted owls mounted to the front of their trucks :D

Spoken like someone who's never been to the Bay Area... ;) I know better than to use that phrase in a "past-tense" context...

All the self-absorbed yuppies in my neighborhood give me dirty loks whenever they walk by the house...I guess they don't like the half-disassembled pickup truck in the driveway ;)

bobbyv 08-25-2004 08:30 PM

the "Baby On Board" sign should face the driver of the car ...
