Custom mens suits- where to get?

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for a maroon silk suit. Like the one DMX wore in the movie "Exit Wounds".

Also I am looking for a white suit, like the one the drug dealer bad guy wore in the end of "Bad Boys I".

Does anybody know who makes that or where I can get something like that? Thanks.

Try Mohan's Custom Tailors in NYC...they have a website and

can produce true "custom" work for very reasonable prices.

You know, rick, I had something funny like that happen the other day. I was at a window tint shop getting a car done, and this kid comes in and asks the guy if he can do a silver mirror tint job. The tint guy didn't get what the kid was asking for, so the kid says "You know, like they have on Mercedes", and the tint guy still doesn't get it, so I say to the tint guy "He means like what pimps do to their Mercedes". He says "Oh!" and gets the kid fixed up in no time.

ravistailor.com. I got a trenchcoat custom made there once. Pretty good stuff. Email him and he does whatever you want if you send pics or you can browse the stuff alreaady there, basically knock offs of whatever he can find that looks good.

Ditto on Hong Kong. Still the best place for clothes shopping bar none. Quite a number of Indian tailors setting up shop in Hong Kong these days.

If you can find a good tailor, and that is a big 'if', then you can walk in with a suit that fits well and have it tailored to fit.

If you start with a high quality suit to begin with you will have a great looking suit when they are finished.

Buy something a little too large because it is easier to take in than to let out.

Check out Ebay for some real suits at low prices.

It might take some looking, but if you are not in a hurry then this is a great place to pick up a high dollar suit. You just have to be willing to put in the time.

A friend of mine is a mult-millioniare real estate guy who gets all of his suits there. Then he has them tailored to fit.

He rarely wears a suit, but he had to have them all tailor made anyway since he is an athletic build type of guy and hard to fit.

He recommends Goodwill, but he did pick up a Zegna that fit him at a Salvation Army a few months ago. $3,500 suit; $25 price tag.
