opinions on 1995 audi A6

I saw a 1995 Audi A6 for sale today with 204,000 miles on it for $3995. It looked immaculate, inside and out, but the price seems a bit steep for the miles. Anyone have an opinion on these cars? Good/bad? problems, things to look for? Motor trend had an article on these cars a while back about what a great used car they were, minus a few electrical bugs.

sadly, constant tinkering on the 300e has caused me to begin to look at other vehicles, (still German, though).

I just read one review of this car that said it was very slow. I also read an advertisement for it yesterday that said it had "plenty of power". Guess I'll have to go out and drive one. I am shying away from this car now because it seems like replacement parts are as pricey, if not pricier than most w124 parts, and overall it's a lower quality car. Doesn't make much sense to me.

I've owned 6 Audis so far, although the newest was an '86. My opinion is they are good solid cars as far as body and general drivetrain goes. I've always been pleased with the ride. They're kind of middle of the road as far as comfort and performance goes. For some reason Audi didn't see fit to make cars that accelerate quickly until the last few years. But ya gotta put up with lot's of bugs and quirks with the brand. If the A6 is anything like the older models from the 80's, the engine and trannie will probably easily last another 100k if it's been cared for.
