Shame to see the German marques slipping- or maybe the other manufacturars just caught up. My brother back in th UK has just bought a new BMW 5-series, it'll be interesting to see how he gets on with it. I know he's already had problems with the alarm on it.
As I'm moving back there come december-ish, I'm concerned about the newer models from manufacturers I like- I've been looking at more recent Peugeots and VWs, (406 and Passat) which both seem to suffer from some serious quality issues. Hopefully instead I can find a decent late-model 124 series diesel or mid-model C250 diesel, as I won't be able to run a gas Merc on the other side of the pond.
