While privacy is generally a concern unless one takes significant steps to preserve it, the point of my question, is why would one use a free mail service that invades it to a much more significant degree than other solutions out there.
Would/do you willingly divulge more information to a telemarketer or other information gathering than you absolutely have to? If said telemarketer offered you $5 to give more information than you normally would, would you do it? Do you hold a Safeway Club card or equivalent?
I guess that some people don't care as much as others about their habits being monitored and tracked, and becoming a willing cog in a big machine.
