john lennon's jukebox (show on PBS)
good show on PBS, unsure if its new or old:
John Lennon's Jukebox basically, at some point a small portable jukebox that had belonged to lennon surfaced complete with the records and labels filled by the man himself. it showcases many of the records that influenced him with interviews of JL and many of the featured artists with both older and comtemporary clips and video interviews of the origionals as well as the beatles even covering some of the material very early in their career. its almost exclusively american R&B and blues artist (like Stax artists) pretty good show. PS- stevie ray vaughn (montreaux 82and85 fest) is this months DTV freeview. |
