Just another music thread.

Lately The Cars have replaced my favorite The Clash London Calling spot in my CD/Changer its only temporary London Calling has had a spot as long as I had a changer but for now it's The Cars and I have about 5 other Clash CD's in there anyway.

The Pixies have also earned a spot bumping Peter Gabrial.

What are you guys/girls listening to this week?

New Wilco album, English band called Elbow and the Flaming Lips when it's sunny. Underworld, Grandaddy and Radiohead's 'OK Computer' always have a place in the car, much to the dismay of my wife -'not underworld agaaain?!'

The new Clutch album (www.pro-rock.com)...it's great "drive fast" music...and the new Prince album...his best work in many years. Also listening to the newest Finger Eleven (nice Canadian dudes that my band toured with), and my friends in dropsonic (from Atlanta) have a GREAT album coming out in a few months...I have an advance copy that I've been wearing out. (www.dropsonic.com)

The music business is in a sad, sad state of affairs, so I wish them all luck!

Practically no rock CDs have come out this year that are even worth using as a beer-coaster...It's definitely been a "dry season" for rock-and-roll lately.

As far as new music, lately I've been listening to some Contemporary Chriatian. The music itself is fairly diverse ranging from Pop, Country, to Rock.

Last month I did an impossible task:

Called "lets get ALL of the CDs from every playable device in the house and cars and match them up to the orphaned jewel cases that are scattered throughout as well!"

Surprisingly, only 9 CDs didn't have a case and only 5 cases had no CD to match up with!

This gave me a great opportunity to finally reshuffle the CD selections in the car changers that seem to find permanent homes there!

Anyway, I digress. Threw in a couple of NOW CDs for my daughter, and pulled out some older releases for myself. Pat Metheny, Al Jarreau, Paul Taylor, Chaka Khan, and BeBe and CeCe Winans.

Wow, that's pretty eclectic, bro! The Beatles are universal, of course....The Cars is an excellent choice, and so is the Def Leppard...I don't know about the Extreme....that name brings back some scary hair-band/spandex flashbacks....

We toured with Queensryche for a month or so, back in '99 or 2000.....Very, VERY nice dudes, and still a great band.

Mike
