Seriously, good riddance to him...maybe, if the Palestinians get more moderate leadership, something could actually be worked out between them and Israel...

Scum is scum no matter what side of the political spectrum you are on. The guy dies with a billion dollars in the bank that he stole from the poorest people on earth, he's never had anything to offer to the world's worst problem other than violence and blood, and he derailed the peace process because he refused to renounce advocating the destruction of Israel - the only condition he had to meet to get 95% of his people's land back. How a guy who would not renounce war got awarded a Peace Prize is beyond amazing - it was a criminal act by the Nobel people, and I agree with the other poster that it has cheapened and demeaned their prize - especially since he did little to stop the senseless suicude bombings that killed so many innocent people after he got the damn thing, never mind the fact that he probably helped plan the attacks. Given the tactics of the Palestinians, I think the Israelis have every right to cap as many of these guys as they can get their hands on, and its too bad Arafat missed a painful death at the hands of the Israelis. Maybe now some kind of peace can come to this place.
As far as Mr. Carter goes, the man has spent most of his life trying to bring peace and justice to this planet by actually practicing the teachings of Christ, something very few "Christians" in this world actually do. I can't think of a guy who deserved it more.
