Dealership offers overnight service

A dealership in the Bay Area advertises that if you drop off your vehicle by 9pm and the problem is routine, they will have your car ready by 7am the next day! I wonder what premium you pay for that luxury?!

This is for Mercedes of course. I don't know if the cars are so problematic, they need to work 24 hours/day to keep up or if they are trying to excel in their service philosiphy.

I think that's brilliant. Why would anyone not want to jump on that? It sounds so convenient I almost wish I lived there and my car was broken.

Probably offering it because they are at capacity, lifts and storage spacewise. This way they can do 1/3 more work with no increase in overhead. Actually smart.

Old idea...

...There was a Chevy dealership in St. Louis that ran a 24-hr. shop where I took my Z-24 in for work. This was back in 1988 and I'm sure they had started that service much earlier than that.

I once brought the car in around 11:30 after working a late IS shift, and got it back by 7AM the next morning.

As many service backlogs I see at shops, I wonder why MORE places haven't done the same?
