But I also have to partially agree with bonehead on this one....
....It is my opinion that he IS responsible for mindlessly continuing to beat the same drum for a LOOOOONG time after overwhelming evidence was presented to debunk the story.
And for that, I DO think he shares in the blame.

I don't think he was responsible for the actual forgery of the papers....and likely not the initial research....but he IS wholely responsible when he started to argue they were valid and truthful...........because it wasn't vetted before he made those preposterous claims what started out as a flawed story basis became his problem when he latched so whole heartedly behind it.
If he had been the least bit objective he would have questioned its validity, and would have quickly seperated himself from it when the first questions were made public. He made the Mountain out of the molehill. And like I said he hung himself as a result. THere is such a thing as Libel, and slander. If Bush pushed the issues surely there is a legal basis since there was no credible evidence, Short of a poorly forged paper that fell appart under so little scrutiny.
Unsuuported preposterous claims are the real of National Enquireer , THe World News, And the New York times......Not CBS. But then look who brought you the story the chevy trucks with bombs in the gas tanks explode.....Duhhhhhhhhhhhh? so will anything with a gas tank in those conditions.
