I am thinking of making a bid.. but would like to know what you all think about it. I heard mixed reviews about the seller (Bobby Rahal dealership) in the archives. Also, what would you think this car will sell for? Under $10k?

It looks mighty clean. It may not be a bad one to have if it is well cared for by the PO. Just like BoneDr said, it came from an auction. So a thorough inspect by a third party mechanic should be part of the purchase agreement.

For some reason, the auction was reset.. it was at $6700 with reserve not met, and now its back to $500

I wouldnt pay more than 8K. Edmunds says about 9.3K. Blue book is probably like 9, NADA more like what edmunds list usually, not a really high demand (i dunno, at least not in where I am) so 8 is more than reasonable. A real nice car worth what its worth but not what people are willing to pay. Works backwards with junk like Supras and MR2s, not worth much, but sell for a lot because morons will pay original MSRP for them

Here in Pa. we have a state inspection that is pretty thorough on all items related to safety. From the windshield, cracks in critical areas, to brakes and exhaust. Inspections must be done once a year. I personally have bought 3 vehicles from Rahal and would rate them 5 star in my book.

I had a parent call the dealership.. it was sold for under $10k. I would have purchased it if were still available.

Seriously.. please let me know if anyone sees a 1989+ 560SEL with low miles, maintained and good shape. Color of interior gray or black... exterior pretty much the same at this point.
