Popular song lyrics you wouldn't write today

I'll start.

One toke over the line sweet Jesus
One toke over the line...

and

What's your name?
Who's your daddy?
Is he rich like me?

and

Young girl, get outta my mind
My love for you, is way out of line

Ah... freedom of speech is a great thing.

Ok, try this... Since reality is never in style...

Action, reaction, random interaction
whos afraid of a little abstraction
can't get no satisfaction from the facts
you better run home boy
thats a fact from Knome to Rome

whats the deal
spin the wheel
show us what you got
what your holding
if the cards are cold dont go folding
lady luck is golden
she favors the bold
thats cold
so get out there and rock and roll the bones
get busy

Razor cut, Laser cut
Chopped and channeled
curled up, slicked back
Hangin in your eyes
Parted left, parted right
Straight down the middle
Scientists say your hair never lies
they done lotsa research
it may be just hype
But the latest findings
cause me to tremble
categorizes into 3 basic types
by which of the 3 Stooges you most closely resemble

If her daddy's rich, take her out for a meal
If her daddy's poor, just do what you feel . . .

Why don't we do it in the road . . .

Why don't we get drunk and screw . . .

Hey little girl is your daddy home
Does he go away and leave you all alone
I got a bad desire
I'm on fire.

Harry Nilsson/ You're Breakin' My Heart

You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
So f**k you
All I want to do
Is have a good time
Now I'm blue
You wanna boogaloo
Run down to Tramps
Have a dance or two--ooh!
You're breaking my heart
You're tearin' it apart
But f**k you
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
Ooh!--ooh!--
You stepped on my ass
You're breaking my glasses too
You wanna drive my car
Buy a lot of stuff
I've had enough
Of you--ooh!
I'm goin' insane
There's no one to blame
So f**k you
You've gotta have your way
There's nothin' left to say
There's nothin' left to do--ooh!
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
So f**k you
You've gotta have your way
There's nothin' left to say
There's nothin' left to do--ooh!
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
But I love you

It's a shame, rap has really changed over the years. It wasn't always so crude and vulgar. Back when it first started up in the late 70's, it was just about things like going to a party and having fun, or going over to your friend's house and his mom's cooking is so bad, you're afraid to eat it, instead of now, cursing out women, pimpin', drug dealin' and stuff.

Now, back on topic, there's one rap out there, and the title of it is...

"F**K YOU!"

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother...I want to...f$%k you

(anyone know what that's from? ...it should be easy ;))

Some fine late 90s sellout raps:
(radio versions)
Girl, you look good. Won't you back that thing up?
You's a big fine woman! Won't you back that thing up?
Call me big daddy when you back that thing up!
Girl, who is you playin' with? Back that thing up!

Then, the lyrics I liked to enunciate properly when I taught 4th, 5th, & 6th grade.. got a few crossways looks for sure!

You all are going to make me lose my mind, up in here... up in here.
You all are going to make me go all out, up in here... up in here.
You all are going to make me act the fool, up in here... up in here.
You all are going to make me lose my cool, up in here... up in here.

A terminal Oedipus complex plus a peyote trip in the Mojave Desert...and that's what you get. ;)

Jim Morrison's a very fascinating character...I got the chance to do some research for him for a report I made in a music class...in addition to being a good lyricist (and a good singer), he would make a great case study for a psychologist :)

Guns N Roses - Used To Love Her

I used to love her
But I had to kill her
I used to love her, Mm, yeah
But I had to kill her
I had to put her six feet under
And I can still hear her complain

I used to love her, Oo, yeah
But I had to kill her
I used to love her, Oo, yeah
But I had to kill her
I knew I'd miss her
So I had to keep her
She's buried right in my backyard
Oh yeah, Oo yeah, whoa, oh yeah

I used to love her
But I had to kill her
I used to love her, Mm, yeah
But I had to kill her
She *****ed so much, She drove me nuts
And now we're happier this way, yeah
Whoa, oh yeah

I used to love her
But I had to kill her
I used to love her, Mm, yeah
But I had to kill her
I had to put her, Oo, six feet under
And I can still hear her complain

It is actually a strangely beautiful poem in its entirety, and worth puitting up:

The Doors - The End Lyrics

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land

Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the King's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby

Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold

The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest

The blue bus is callin' us
The blue bus is callin' us
Driver, where you taken' us

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient galleryAnd he walked on down the
hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother...I want to...f**k you

C'mon baby, take a chance with us
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
On a blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
C'mon, yeah

Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end
