Blame that on the teachers.................... What happened needs to be remembered.....there are too many people that actually believe it never happened, and the millions of Jews that died were never killed.....and the mental defiecients, and the Gypsies, russians etc......

What Hitler did was a drop in the bucket compared to the total number of people wiped out by genocide in the last 100 years. But, it was very visual, and if nothing, highlighted what "western" nations are capable of.

So, why don't we get upset when it happens to a bunch of poor black people in Africa? We just call it "civil war" when it happens now. We pull out the "atrocities" card when we please, like in Iraq.

There are men that are much more evil than Hitler was, and they walk free.

As to the topic, well, what about parents? We seem to expect our kids to get 99.99% of their knowledge from the school. Hello, folks, they spend about 23 hours a week in class. Take away 56 hours a week for sleeping, and you've got 89 hours left. Somewhere in that 89 hours, people could perhaps help educate their own children. I remember this woman that wanted to sue the school system 'cause her grade six kid couldn't read. She found that out when the kid was 12? It took her that long to notice her kid couldn't READ? If your kids graduate from high school and you don't think they learned enough history, go ahead, show some initiative, and help them learn some. You might have to ban the X-box for an evening, boo-hoo.

Don't blame "Western" society....

Pol Pot wasn't western.....

Remember what China did ..........

Remember Lenin and Stalin........

Look at Ruanda.....and Sudan..... none of those are "Western" societies.

We had the American indians................

THe English had the Irish in the 18th century....And the Scots before that.

Every part of the Globe has had this problem.........If the teachers taught what should be taught and not just liberal idealisms to indocrinate the kids, people would be better educated.

Ask most Americans if they remember Manzanar, Tule Lake, Minidoka or Topaz.

I totally agree. Public education has to provide for the lowest common denominator with increasingly smaller amounts of money. Any improvement over the abysmal education they get at your local schoolhouse that is being starved for cash by conservatives at all levels of government, is up to you. If you don't read to your kids, if you don't take an interest in exploring science with them, they are going to end up the product of school systems who are run by people who think "creationism" should be taught as science.

What a crock. Blame game, nothing more. What is the "liberal" story about WW2? What's the right-wing version? If the education system is so biased, then why is your nation filled with right-wing Bush-lovers? Everyone loves to blame something for their woes. My kids are stupid, must be the schools. I wanted to sit on my fat ass and stare at the TV and not pay attention to my kids, and now they're fat-asses that watch TV all the time? What went wrong?

In one post the right-wingers harp on about personal responsibility, and in the next they cry about a system that doesn't hold their hand through life. No wonder we can't get it right, there is no right. It's nothing but finding fault with everything.

Are you crazy?.....................

Make a bunch of Liberal indocrination administrators wealthier than they are now....

The quality of education has gone down hill as the money that has been thrown into it has gone through the roof.

Look at DC schools......they pay the highest per student costs in the country.......and collectively have the worst results........

Catholic schools outpace the best Public schools on les than 1/4 the cost per student.

Toss out the teachers unions, toss out the liberal indocrination squads and hold ALL teachers to task. When Tenure is a thing of the past....and teachers actually teach like they used to, then the education system might actually teach students instead of exist exclusively to line their pockets.

Lies. The US spends less per student than Jordan, for example. Please refer to following graph to educate yourself, showing we are not even in the top 10 countries who spend on education, in fact we are 47th, which is the primary reason this country's future is to be a nation of dumbasses:

It is sad that educational spending has become a political football in this country for ranters like bonehead. While we starve our educational systems for money (we don't want to be "liberal" now do we?), the rest of the world is going on massive programs to create educated populations that can compete in the coming world:

It should be obvious to anyone that public financial support for education has declined in this ignorant country. After having created the technological world we live in, we are too stupid to provide what is necessary to continue to thrive in it.

Hey....I Graduated in '79......I know teachers, I have seen what they try to pass off as education these days. 30 years ago they still taught stuff, these days they teach feel good BS......education has never been worse and teachers pay has never been higher.

They have more money than they need, what they need is teachers who teach the subjects.

Education went in the trash when they started this Politically correct bullcrap.
