I'm sorry, I can't think of a good come-back statement at the moment., but that shiite ain't no nectar, more like "paint thinner" of the Gods. Yeeesh, I get that weird "sprain behind the ears because you ate something sour" feeling just thinkin about it.........

No need, I've only had that crap a few times, so I should be OK. Both times I was offered it I was already slightly inebreated (sp?) on something good, like mouth wash or rubbing alcohol (I mean "good" compared to the Guiness).

No I meant the Immage of Roy Rojers on his loyal horse Trigger.

And The Lone ranger on his steed,

ANd the popularity of the Cowboy.............

these images helped change the perception of horses by those who never rode owned or even spent time around them.

THat combined with less than ethicle butchers selling old work horses that were put down due to being worked to death , but calling it beef.....

firget exactly when but I know it was over 60 years ago.......that was back when horses were still used for work, and not just recreation as now.

Like I said , I have had a lot of it while in Italy.......tastes good....but I am not going out of m way to find it either.

:P That's a good one.

Being of Irish descent myself, I have made an effort to like Guiness and Irish Whiskey, but I really can't stand either one. I suspect that the Irish Whiskey that I've tried was not the best quality, so I will probably seek out a good brand and try again.

Understand what you are saying, LOTS of horses are used for fun, but when you come west, lots more are used daily for work, working cattle the traditional way is still done at lots of ranches from Texas to Wyoming...

I got the German descent thing going on myself. Whiskey and me never have "gotten along" all that well, and don't think I've tried any Irish whiskey. German brandy I like, and cognac, mmm mmm.

OK, so what's wrong with that? More are on the way as replacements so they won't go extinct. Besides, the French like horsemeat. The French eat snails too.
